CMS is Content Management System. It is used for creating and update content in a WordPress website or blog without knowing coding knowledge.

Advantage:

• It is easy to understand for everyone and handle.
• It is user-friendly.
• Anyone can create a website or blog without coding and technical knowledge.

Disadvantage:

• It is plugin-based software, All the webpage works with plugin. So, the reason leads to slow down the website sometimes.
• It works with PHP so, the user needs to create a website from the scratch, they should know the PHP language.

All the three software are CMS-based software but the difference is “Wordpress” is user friendly and “drupal and joomla” are not user friendly.

Drupal contains lots of files and folders inside the drupal folder. So, it can’t find the specific files easily for needs to any changes or updates in the webpage or blog.

Joomla, It is not easy to find right plugin for website because it has more options than wordpress.

step 1: Install webserver

step 2: create database using phpmyadmin

step 3: Download wordpress zip file from wordpress.org.

step 4: Extract the zip file and copy the ‘wordpress’ folder and paste it into the ‘htdocs’ folder in XAMPP or ‘www’ folder in WAMP.

step 5: Type the url in browser ‘localhost/wordpress’ and enter.

step 6: Choose the language and click continue.

step 7: Click “Let’s go” button on another window open.

step 8: Setup config window will be open and type database name, username as root, password as empty, database host as localhost, table prefix as wp_ and click the ‘submit’ button.

step 9: click the “Run the Installation’ button on the opened window.

step 10: After that another window open give the site title, username, password, check the confirm password, email and click the ‘install wordpress’ button.

step 11: After the installed wordpress the page redirect to ‘success’ page then login with your email and password. The dashboard page will be open.

Yes, we need to create database before install because when we install wordpress the themes content tables(admin page, post, page, options etc.) are created in database automatically.

We can use plugin in wordpress with plugin sidebar menu from dashboard. Plugin –> Add new –> Search a needed plugin –> click ‘install’ from selected plugin –> click ‘Activate’ button to activate the plugin for wordpress.

We can see the plugin as a sidebar menu in dashboard.

The fields create manually for the user needs is called custom fields.

Pages or posts from the dashboard that conain fields in the right side is called meta fields.
